Why Choose Agro Prime Ghana for Day-Old Chicks

The honest reasons to buy day-old chicks from Agro Prime Ghana, what we will not claim, and the questions to check each reason before you order.

Agro Prime Ghana TeamUpdated 25 Oct 20269 min read

Choose Agro Prime Ghana for day-old chicks if you want to buy from a working hatchery in Kasoa that rears its own birds, vaccinates its chicks, gives hands-on advice and arranges transport to customers across Ghana. Those are the reasons we can stand behind, and each one comes with a question you can check. We do not offer star ratings, customer quotes or claims that we are the best in the country, because we cannot back them up and you should not have to take them on trust. This page sets out what we can offer, what we will not claim, and how to decide whether we are the right supplier for your flock.

From the Agro Prime Ghana team — a working hatchery in Kasoa supplying day-old chicks, point-of-lay pullets and feed across Ghana. Last updated October 2026.

Quick answer

Agro Prime Ghana offers four reasons to consider us. We run a working hatchery in Kasoa, so the birds come from our own operation. Our chicks are vaccinated, and we will tell you which vaccines are given and show you the record for your batch. We give hands-on advice on brooding and feeding. And we arrange transport to customers across Ghana, with the terms confirmed when you order. We do not publish prices or ratings here. Message WhatsApp (+233 24 915 1503) with your breed, quantity and town for a current quote.

Four reasons we can stand behind

Each of these reasons is something you can test. The table pairs every reason with the question that will tell you whether it holds for your order.

Where we are, and what that means for you

Our hatchery is in Kasoa, in the Central Region, a short drive west of Accra on the coast road. That location means buyers in Accra, the Central Region and farther afield can reach us, and you can visit to see the stock and the house before you order. Delivery across the country is arranged from Kasoa, and we confirm the details for your town when you message us. This page does not claim a branch or outlet in any other town.

Being close to a city is useful for a visit, but it does not replace the checks on any supplier. Ask the same questions you would ask anywhere, and ask us to put the answers in writing where you want them.

The breeder targets we work to, and what they mean

Breeders publish performance objectives for the weights a flock should reach at each age. Between day 35 and day 42, the published targets add roughly 0.6 to 0.8 kg per bird, depending on line and sex. The chart shows the day 35 and day 42 targets for male and female Cobb 500 and Ross 308 birds, from the 2022 breeder documents. Male Cobb 500 birds go from 2,694 g to 3,503 g, and female Ross 308 birds go from 2,114 g to 2,728 g.

These are targets under the breeder's conditions, not promises about your farm. Ask us which target applies to your batch, and plan your feed and market timing around that figure rather than around a sales claim.

Vaccination: what we do and what to ask

Our chicks are vaccinated. Vaccination programmes differ between hatcheries, and we would rather you ask than assume. Ask which vaccines are given to the chicks, on which day, and by which route. A published example from another hatchery, Kenchic, lists a Marek's and IBD vaccine given by injection on day one and a Newcastle and infectious bronchitis vaccine given by spray in the hatchery, with a further dose around days 15 to 18. That is one company's programme, not ours. Ask us for the programme and the record for your batch, and treat a supplier who cannot give you that detail with caution.

Vaccines work best when the rest of the house is right too. Keep the brooder warm and dry, and make sure birds have feed and clean water from the start. Our brooding guide covers the basics.

Ask us the hard questions

Send your breed, quantity and town to WhatsApp (+233 24 915 1503) and include any question from this page you want answered. We reply with what we can confirm for your batch. You can also book a visit to see the hatchery and stock in Kasoa.

Advice, and where our advice stops

We give hands-on advice on brooding, feeding and setting up the house. That includes talking through your goal, whether you are raising broilers, layers or pullets, and what the house needs before the birds arrive. What we cannot do is diagnose a sick flock over WhatsApp from a description alone. If birds are unwell, get a local veterinary officer or vet involved as well as contacting us, and tell them what you have told us about the feed, the vaccines and the house.

Our guide to choosing healthy day-old chicks lists the on-arrival checks, and the advice we give will build on the same basics.

What we will not claim

Many supplier pages lean on ratings, awards and glowing quotes. This one does not, and here is why. We have no star ratings to show you, and we will not invent customer quotes or name customers who have not agreed to be named. We are not making a claim to be Ghana's best hatchery, because that would require comparing us with every supplier in the country, and we have not done that. We also will not promise a discount, invent scarcity to rush your order, or guarantee a mortality rate, since losses depend on many things outside a hatchery's control, including handling and conditions on your farm.

Is Agro Prime right for your flock?

We are likely to suit you if you want to buy from the people who rear the birds, you want advice on your house and feed, you want the vaccination record in writing, and you need the birds delivered rather than collected. We may not be the right choice if you need a particular breed or a particular date that we cannot confirm, or if you want a product we do not supply. In that case, tell us, and we will say honestly what we can and cannot do.

The bottom line

Agro Prime Ghana is a working hatchery in Kasoa that vaccinates its chicks, gives hands-on advice and arranges transport across Ghana. Those are real reasons to consider us, and each one has a question attached so you can check it. We will not tell you that we are the best, because you should not have to take that on trust. Ask us the questions, get the answers in writing where you want them, and check the birds when they arrive. For partnership or investment conversations, see our partner and invest page.

Are you the best day-old chicks supplier in Ghana?
We do not claim that. We cannot compare ourselves with every supplier in the country, so we will not say it. What we can do is answer your questions clearly and give you the records for your batch.
How much do your day-old chicks cost?
We do not publish prices on this page. Prices depend on breed, season and order size. Message us on WhatsApp at +233 24 915 1503 for a current quote.
Is there a minimum order?
Minimum quantities depend on the product and the batch. Tell us what you need and we will confirm what we can supply.

Broiler or layer chicks: which should I buy?
It depends on your goal. Broiler chicks are raised for meat over a short cycle, and layer chicks are raised for eggs over a longer period. Tell us what you want and we will suggest what suits it. Our overview of the best chicken breeds in Ghana compares the options.
What happens if chicks die in transit?
We cannot promise a refund or replacement on this page. Ask how losses are handled before you order, and agree the terms in writing before you pay.
