Buy Point-of-Lay Pullets Online in Ghana: How Ordering Works

Live pullet batches are confirmed by message, not a web checkout. Here is how to order online from Agro Prime's Kasoa hatchery and what to check in any listing.

If you want to buy point-of-lay pullets online in Ghana, the practical route is to order through a hatchery you can reach directly, confirm the batch, and agree delivery before you pay. Agro Prime Ghana sells point-of-lay pullets from its Kasoa hatchery, and our store section lists products that can be bought in the usual way. Live pullet batches are a different matter: they are reared to a specific age, so we confirm availability and delivery with you on WhatsApp before you commit. This page explains how online ordering works for live birds, what to check in an online listing, and why the age on the day of delivery is the number that matters most.

From the Agro Prime Ghana team — a working hatchery in Kasoa supplying day-old chicks, point-of-lay pullets and feed across Ghana. Last updated October 2026.

Quick answer

You can order point-of-lay pullets from Agro Prime Ghana by messaging WhatsApp (+233 24 915 1503) with the breed, quantity and town. We reply with a current quote, confirm whether the batch is available, and agree pickup or delivery before you pay. Browse our store for products listed there, and book a visit if you want to see the birds in Kasoa first. Live birds are confirmed by message, not by an automatic checkout.

What "buying online" means for live birds

Feed, equipment and other supplies can be bought like any other product. Live birds are not quite the same. A point-of-lay pullet is an animal at a specific stage of growth, and the age she is on the day she arrives decides how soon she will lay. A web page cannot show you the flock, the house or the batch record, so the order has to be confirmed before anything moves.

That is why we treat online orders for live pullets as a conversation first. You tell us what you need, we tell you what we can confirm, and then the order is agreed. We do not promise stock or a delivery date through a web page we cannot update in real time.

How the online ordering process works

  1. Find us. Start from our site or from the WhatsApp number at +233 24 915 1503.
  2. Send your order details. Give us the breed, the number of birds, the town you are in and the date you need them.
  3. We confirm the batch. We tell you whether the batch you need is available and what age the birds will be on the day they leave the hatchery.
  4. Choose pickup or delivery. Collect from our Kasoa hatchery, or ask us to arrange transport to your area. We confirm delivery details and timing when you order.
  5. Agree payment and handling. Confirm the payment terms and what happens if birds are lost in transit before the order is finalised.

Why the age on delivery matters more than the price

When you compare online listings, it is tempting to focus on the headline figure. For point-of-lay pullets, the more useful question is how far from laying the birds will be when they arrive. A pullet that is close to point of lay can start laying within a few weeks, but a younger bird has more growing to do. The chart above shows the weeks still to wait before the first egg, using the earliest typical first-egg age of 18 weeks from the US Poultry Industry Manual.

This is why any honest listing, online or offline, should give the age on the day of delivery. If a seller will not give you that age, ask again before you pay.

What to check in an online listing

Before you order from any online seller, check these points. They apply to Agro Prime and to anyone else:

  • Breed named in full. “Layers” is not a breed. Ask for the exact laying line.
  • Age on the day of delivery. Not the age when the listing was written.
  • Batch and source. Who reared the birds, and whether they come from a single batch.
  • Vaccination and health record. Ask for it in writing.
  • Delivery terms. Who arranges transport, how long it takes to confirm, and who is responsible for the birds on the road.
  • Feed. What the birds have been eating, and whether you need to buy laying feed to keep their diet steady.

If a listing gives a price but none of these points, you do not yet have a comparable offer.

Send your order details on WhatsApp

Message us at WhatsApp (+233 24 915 1503) with your breed, quantity, town and date. We reply with what we can confirm for your batch, the age on delivery and the delivery options for your area. Prefer to see first? Book a visit to the Kasoa hatchery.

What you can buy from our store, and what we confirm by message

Our store section lists some of our products, such as feed and supplies. Live point-of-lay batches depend on the age and stock of the flock at that time, so we confirm them by WhatsApp rather than through a fixed listing. If a product you want is not in the store, do not assume we do not sell it. Message us and we will tell you what we can supply.

Preparing your house before the birds arrive

Online buyers often receive birds at a distance from the place they will be kept, so preparation matters even more. Have the laying house clean, dry and ready. Set out feeders and drinkers before the birds arrive, and have the laying feed on hand. Keep the lighting steady, because light controls when hens start laying. Our guides to Lohmann Brown layer management and the layer feeding guide cover the practical steps.

Point-of-lay or day-old: which one fits your plan?

Point-of-lay is the right choice when eggs sooner matter more to you than the lower upfront cost of a chick. Day-old chicks suit buyers who have a brooder, the space and time to rear birds, and a plan for the 18 to 21 weeks before lay. Our guide to how to brood day-old chicks explains what the rearing stage involves, so you can judge honestly which route you can manage.

Choosing the breed before you order

Decide the breed first, because it affects the quote, the laying programme and the eggs you get. Our overview of the best chicken breeds in Ghana compares the main options. When you message us, tell us whether you want eggs for the table, for sale or for a larger enterprise, and we will suggest what fits that goal.

The bottom line

Buying point-of-lay pullets online in Ghana works best when the online part is the enquiry and the confirmation, not a checkout for live birds. Ask for the breed, the age on delivery, the vaccination record and the delivery terms, and get them in writing before you pay. Agro Prime Ghana does this from its Kasoa hatchery. If you are considering a larger layer enterprise and want to talk about partnership or investment, see our partner and invest page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay for point-of-lay pullets online?
Live pullet batches are confirmed by message before any payment is agreed. Message us on WhatsApp at +233 24 915 1503 and we will tell you the payment terms for your order. Items listed in our store can be looked at there, and we will tell you how to order them.
Is there a fixed online price for point-of-lay pullets?
No, and we will not publish one here. The price depends on breed, the age of the batch on delivery, order size and season. Ask us for a current quote on WhatsApp for the batch you need.
How do I know the birds are the age the seller says?
Ask for the age on the day of delivery, check the batch record, and see the birds in person if you can. A reputable hatchery will show you the batch and answer your questions directly.
Can you deliver point-of-lay pullets to my town?
We arrange transport to customers across Ghana from our Kasoa hatchery. Delivery details and timing are confirmed when you order, so tell us your town and we will confirm what we can arrange.
How soon will the pullets lay after they arrive?
Egg production generally begins between 19 and 21 weeks of age, according to the US Poultry Industry Manual, depending on body weight and lighting. A point-of-lay pullet is already close to that stage, so the wait is much shorter than for a day-old chick. Settling in and breed affect the exact timing.
What if some birds die during transport?
Agree the handling of losses before you order, and get the terms in writing. Tell us promptly if birds are lost, so we can check the batch and advise you on the next steps.
Do I need to buy feed from you as well?
It is not required, but keeping the birds on the diet they arrive on helps them settle. Ask us what layer feed we can supply with your order. Our layer feeding guide explains the stages.
How far ahead should I order?
Message us as early as you can, with the date you need the birds. Because live batches are confirmed by message, an early enquiry gives you the best chance of the batch you want. We will not guarantee stock in advance.
