Vaccinated, hatchery-fresh Layer Chicks delivered to Tema and nearby towns from our hatchery in Kasoa.
Agro Prime · Kasoa hatcheryTema combines heavy industry, the country's biggest port and a dense population of layer and broiler farms in the Ashaiman and Community belt, so both feed and finished birds move fast here. Agro Prime supplies productive layer day-old chicks to Tema from our hatchery in Kasoa, roughly 55 km away — about 1 hour 15 minutes by road.
Our layer day-old chicks come from high-performance egg strains such as Lohmann Brown, ISA Brown and Hy-Line, vaccinated at the hatchery. Managed well, a good layer produces eggs for 72 to 80 weeks.
Tema's harbour, factory canteens and dense Community housing keep a steady pull on chicken and eggs, while the Ashaiman farm belt just inland is one of the busiest smallholder zones in the south. For Tema farmers that means layer chicks you can build a reliable business on — vaccinated, uniform and backed by advice, not a one-off gamble.
| Strain | Per-bird price (GH₵, orientation) | Laying potential |
|---|---|---|
| Lohmann Brown | 18 – 26 | ~300+ eggs per year |
| ISA Brown | 18 – 26 | ~300+ eggs per year |
| Hy-Line / Bovans | 18 – 26 | High, persistent lay |

In Tema, layer chicks that come into lay evenly and lay persistently pay off fastest — that is what the factory canteens and port-side hotels of Tema expect, and it is exactly what a local, single-source hatchery is built to deliver.
Agro Prime is a working hatchery, not a reseller. Our team runs computer-controlled incubators on a weekly hatch cycle, vaccinates every batch at the hatchery, and candles, grades and counts the layer chicks before they leave us. Because we hatch locally, your birds are hours old — not days into a long import journey — when they reach you.

We deliver Layer Chicks to Tema and nearby communities including Ashaiman, Kpone, Community 25, Afienya and Prampram. You are on our doorstep, so transport is quick and gentle on the birds — ideal for fresh day-old chicks with very little travel stress. Pickup at the hatchery in Kasoa is also welcome if you prefer to collect.
Buyers here include factory-canteen suppliers, Community-based layer farmers and the many Ashaiman keepers finishing broilers for the Tema and Accra markets. Tema farmers supplying the port hotels and factory canteens value uniform, well-vaccinated birds, which is exactly what a modern single-source hatchery delivers.
Whether you are raising birds for meat, eggs or resale, starting with strong, well-vaccinated stock is what protects your margin — and that is exactly what we focus on for every Tema order.
The coastal belt is warm and humid, so ventilation, dry litter and clean water do most of the work in keeping birds healthy. Vaccinated chicks and a clean brooder give you a strong, low-stress start in this climate.
